The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 5.8 quake in Guatemala near Huehuetenango, Municipio de Huehuetenango, Departamento de Huehuetenango, only 9 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early afternoon on Friday, November 28th, 2025, at 2:06 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 143.80 km. Other agencies reporting the same quake include The Colombian Geological Service (SGC) at magnitude 5.6, France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) at magnitude 5.0, and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 5.7.
