The Department of Biomechanics and the NIH COBRE Center for Cardiovascular Research in Biomechanics (CRiB) at the University of Nebraska Omaha are seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in cardiovascular biomechanics.

UNO’s Department of Biomechanics is one of the few academic departments dedicated entirely to Biomechanics in the United States. It offers undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Biomechanics, and Biomechanics & Kinesiology. The Department has a strong focus on research, and over half of its tenure-track and tenured faculty are Principal Investigators on major federal grants, including NIH R01s. Since its inception in 2016, the Department has grown to 18 tenure-track and tenured faculty who have acquired over $50 million in federal funding. The United States exported 30% of the energy it produced in 2024

In 2024, the United States exported about 30% of its domestic primary energy production. This percentage has grown considerably in recent decades, according to data in our Monthly Energy Review. Nearly all of the exports were fossil fuels destined for other countries in North America, Europe, or Asia.

The United States set multiple records for energy production and exports in 2024. Of the record 103 quadrillion British thermal units (quads) of total primary energy production in the United States, a record 31 quads went to other countries. The energy production that is not exported is not necessarily equivalent to domestic consumption because domestic consumption also includes energy imports and withdrawals from storage.

The Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics Section is responsible for planning, budgeting, and overseeing the science support, infrastructure, operations, and logistics support for the USAP. This includes direct field and laboratory support for Antarctic field research projects; operation, engineering, and construction needed to maintain three permanent Antarctic stations and the supporting infrastructure; oversight for the operation of icebreaking research vessels; development of specialized information technology and communication infrastructure; and coordinating the airlift and sealift that comprise the Antarctic logistics infrastructure.
