Areas of dense fog, with visibility less than one quarter mile at times, have developed across the region this morning. Motorists should use caution if out driving and be prepared for sudden changes in visibilities. Do not assume the road ahead is unobstructed. Drive at slower speeds and maintain extra distance between yourself and surrounding vehicles. Use low beam headlights, and allow more time to reach your destination safely. The fog is expected to gradually dissipate between 8 and 9 AM this morning.

Patchy dense fog has developed across portions of Fayette, Lavaca, DeWitt, and Karnes counties early this morning. Visibility are reduced to 1/4 mile in this dense fog. The visibility should improve 8 AM to 10 AM. Motorists should drive with caution in fog by slowing down, providing extra space between the vehicle ahead of you, and using the low beams.
