SVRGID The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for… Northwestern Rooks County in north central Kansas… * Until 400 PM CDT. * At 319 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Nicodemus, or 14 miles east of Hill City, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Rooks County, stradding the Rooks-Graham County line.

At 317 PM CDT/217 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Champion, or 7 miles south of Imperial, moving north at 15 mph. HAZARD…Nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Imperial, Enders, Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area, Champion, Center Dam Campground, Wanamaker State Wildfire Management Area, Area A Campground, and Church Grove Campground. This includes Highway 61 between mile markers 25 and 52.
