An earthquake of magnitude 2.8 occurred only 10 minutes ago 3 miles southeast of San Ramon, California, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 4.8 miles beneath the epicenter near San Ramon, Contra Costa County, California, USA, late at night on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, at 10:46 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 2.8 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 2.8.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred only 7 minutes ago 12 km east of Ferizaj, Kosovo, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 9. km beneath the epicenter near Ferizaj, Komuna e Ferizajt, Ferizaj District, Kosovo, in the morning on Monday, December 15th, 2025, at 7:20 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Geophysical Lab. (AUTH) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0 as well. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 3.2.
