Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), the first university globally to host an IBM utility-scale quantum computer on campus, invites applications from visionary postdocs to join a pioneering research initiative at the intersection of quantum computing and nuclear engineering. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of energy systems through transformative, cross-disciplinary innovation.

In April 2024, RPI and IBM unveiled the world’s first-ever IBM Quantum System One on a university campus. Located in the historic Voorhees Computing Center Chapel, the IBM Quantum System One has significantly enhanced educational and research opportunities for RPI, as well as with other academic institutions and organizations across the Capital Region of New York. Faculty, students, research scientists, and collaborators accessing the system will advance quantum computing research, including the search for quantum algorithms that could fundamentally change the computing field.

The William B. Burnsed Jr. Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering (www.southalabama.edu/colleges/engineering/me/) at the University of South Alabama (USA) in Mobile, Alabama, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Aerospace Engineering.  This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month appointment. The expected starting date is August 15, 2026. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must have prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with preference given to those with expertise in compressible flows and propulsion. Applicants with industrial experience in aerospace engineering applications are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the aerospace and mechanical engineering curricula.
