At 1218 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm near Dade-Collier Training Airport, or 31 miles east of Chokoloskee, moving northeast at 10 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Dade-Collier Training Airport and Big Cypress National Preserve.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE…A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following county, Charleston. * WHEN…Until 315 PM EDT. * IMPACTS…Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 1206 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
