An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred early morning on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, at 3:09 am local time near San Fernando, La Union, Ilocos, Philippines, as reported by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at an intermediate depth of 95. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Darapidap (pop. 2,700) located 54 km from the epicenter, Candon (pop. 11,200) 58 km away, Santa Maria (pop. 28,000) 63 km away, Tagudin (pop. 35,800) 63 km away, Vigan (pop. 48,500) 66 km away, Bantay (pop. 37,100) 67 km away, San Fernando (pop. 83,000) 77 km away, Bauang (pop. 77,700) 86 km away, and Bangued (pop. 48,300) 90 km away.
