Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.6 just reported 70 km southwest of Banjar, Indonesia

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.6 quake in Indonesia near Banjar, Bandung Regency, Jawa Barat, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025, at 8:32 am local time at a shallow depth of 28. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Banjar (pop. 201,000) located 70 km from the epicenter, Soreang (pop. 116,800) 90 km away, Banjaran (pop. 165,000) 93 km away, Sukabumi (pop. 360,600) 94 km away, Pameungpeuk (pop. 48,300) 96 km away, Margahayukencana (pop. 83,100) 99 km away, and Bandung (pop. 2,444,200) 106 km away.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – FEMA staff is in West Virginia, at community locations selected by local and state officials. If you are a resident of Marion or Ohio counties and you have been impacted by the June 14-15 storms, FEMA staff can answer questions, direct you to state and nonprofit resources, and assist you with your FEMA applications.  

You can visit any of the locations below to meet with FEMA staff in person. Note: disaster survivor assistance pop-up sites will move throughout Marion and Ohio counties. Please check the hours of operation carefully, to note which dates they will be in your area.

The Department of Biomechanics and the NIH COBRE Center for Cardiovascular Research in Biomechanics (CRiB) at the University of Nebraska Omaha are seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in cardiovascular biomechanics.

UNO’s Department of Biomechanics is one of the few academic departments dedicated entirely to Biomechanics in the United States. It offers undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Biomechanics, and Biomechanics & Kinesiology. The Department has a strong focus on research, and over half of its tenure-track and tenured faculty are Principal Investigators on major federal grants, including NIH R01s. Since its inception in 2016, the Department has grown to 18 tenure-track and tenured faculty who have acquired over $50 million in federal funding.
