The Department of Computer Science at Tennessee Tech University invites applicants for multiple positions, including an Assistant Professor with the primary responsibility of teaching artificial intelligence and data science as part of our new B.S. in Artificial Intelligence, and an open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full) Professor position with an emphasis at the intersection of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. Both are full-time, nine-month, tenure-track positions beginning August 2026. 

Assistant Professor (focused on AI and Data Science) 

Selected candidates will be student-centered and expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in AI, machine learning, and data science, with an initial focus on undergraduate courses. They will contribute to curriculum development and participate in scholarly activities centered on teaching, learning, and/or computer science related pedagogy. Three lecturer positions in Computer Science are available at Tennessee Tech University. Full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track positions will begin August 1, 2026. Three-year contracts are renewable based on a satisfactory performance review. Selected candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses, engage in service, and advise students on professionalism and career opportunities. The ideal candidates are those who share the university’s mission and commitment to student success. Assistance will be provided to explore opportunities for dual-career couples, both within and outside the University.

CHICAGO – Preliminary flood risk information and updated Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) are available for review by residents and business owners in Hillsdale County, MI. Property owners are encouraged to review the latest information to learn about local flood risks and potential future flood insurance requirements. Community stakeholders can identify any concerns or questions about the information provided and participate in the 90-day appeal and comment period.

The 90-day appeal period began on October 31, 2025. The preliminary maps and changes from current maps may be viewed online at the FEMA Flood Map Changes Viewer: http://msc.fema.gov/fmcv.

The updated maps were produced in coordination with local, state, and FEMA officials. Significant community review of the maps has already taken place, but before the maps become final, community stakeholders can identify any concerns or questions about the information provided and submit appeals or comments. Contact your local floodplain administrator to do so.

Appeals must include technical information, such as hydraulic or hydrologic data, to support the claim.Appeals cannot be based on the effects of proposed projects or projects started after the study is in progress.If property owners see incorrect information that does not change the flood hazard information, such as a missing or misspelled road name in the Special Flood Hazard Area or an incorrect corporate boundary, they can submit a written comment.
