The Austin College Department of Physics and Engineering invites applications for the tenure-track Assistant Professor of Engineering. Candidates must have PhD in hand before the position begins in August 2026.
The department has five faculty members and is home to undergraduate degree programs in engineering, engineering physics, and physics. The Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree program was launched in Fall 2025 and is growing rapidly. Students may choose to complete a concentration in mechanical or electrical engineering, or graduate without a concentration. We plan to add more concentrations in the coming years.
The program benefits from the strong growth of the semiconductor industry. Major companies are investing heavily in semiconductor fabrication facilities in Sherman TX, creating abundant opportunities for Austin College engineering students and faculty.
