Synopsis

The Pathways to Enable Open-Source Ecosystems (POSE) program aims to harness the power of open-source development for the creation of new technology solutions to problems of national and societal importance. Many NSF-funded projects result in publicly accessible, modifiable, and distributable open-source products, including software, hardware, models, specifications, programming languages, or data platforms that catalyze further innovation. In some cases, an open-source product that shows potential for wide adoption forms the basis for a self-sustaining open-source ecosystem (OSE) that comprises a leadership team; a managing organization with a well-defined governance structure and distributed development model; a cohesive community of external intellectual content developers; and a broad base of users across academia, industry, and/or government. State, FEMA Extend Application Deadline to Feb. 20 for Individual Assistance Programs

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The State of Alaska and FEMA have extended the application deadlines for Individual Assistance to February 20, 2026 for Alaskans impacted by October’s West Coast Storms.

Survivors are encouraged to register for both state and FEMA Individual Assistance programs to maximize their recovery benefits. 

Apply for State Individual Assistance
State designated areas include: North Slope Borough, Northwest Arctic Borough, Bering Straits Regional Education Attendance Area (REAA), Lower Yukon REAA, Yupiit REAA, Lower Kuskokwim REAA, Kashunamiut REAA, and Pribilof Islands REAA.

Apply for FEMA Individual Assistance
FEMA designated areas include: Northwest Arctic Borough, Lower Yukon Regional Education Attendance Area (REAA) and Lower Kuskokwim REAA.

Call the Alaska Call Center at 1-866-342-1699 from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Yup’ik interpreters are available 1-5 p.m. Tuesday/Thursday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.Visit the Bethel Assistance Hub in the AVCP Tugkar Building at 570 3rd Ave., Bethel, AK 99559.

Synopsis

The Tribal Colleges and Universities Program (TCUP) provides awards to federally recognized1 Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaska Native-serving institutions, and Native Hawaiian-serving institutions to promote high quality science (including sociology, psychology, anthropology, linguistics, economics and bioeconomics, statistics, and other social and behavioral sciences; natural sciences; computer science, including, but not limited to, artificial intelligence, quantum information science, and cybersecurity), technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), STEM education, research, and outreach.
