Tibás, San José (4.9 km ENE of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : After 44 years here, this is the first time I feel an earthquake like this, rattling and vibration was very intense and fast, with an unusual frequency. Displacement was very little, hangling objects almost didn’t move, but the sound made by vibration was intense, my dogs also felt it, one of them started barking and running, upsetted.  

San Pedro, Montes de Oca (3.8 km ESE of epicenter) [Map] / Moderate shaking (MMI V) / both vertical and horizontal swinging / 2-5 s : I feel moderate maybe because the earthquake is not from so deep ,it is near the ground .feel like ????  

Avenida 15a, Pavas, San Jose, San José, (5.2 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Strong shaking (MMI VI) / single lateral shake / very short : Sudden strong intense lateral shake sending objects falling followed by 1-2 elastic immediate response shakes.  

Sleeping (7.8 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) : I was sleeping and felt like somebody was shaking my bed – creeping noise on the door as well. Scary.
