Bezymianny (Kamchatka): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 12000 ft (3700 m) altitude or flight level 120 and is moving at 5 kts in SW direction.

Kusatsu-Shirane (Honshu): The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that unrest activity increased at Kusatsu-Shiranesan between 15 September 2025 (local) and 16 September 2025 (local). The alert level remained at “Level 2 – Restriction on proximity to the crater” (on a 5-level scale).
