At 115 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Hillhead, or near Veblen, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Veblen, Hillhead, and Veblen Flats Housing.

At 1214 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Fort Phil Kearny Historical Site, which is 15 miles north of Buffalo, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Johnson County. This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 42 and 48.
