SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Jasper, Newton, Kirbyville, Merryville, Colmesneil, Town Bluff, Call, Ebenezer, Bon Weir, Burkeville, Browndell, Trout Creek, Bivens, Harrisburg, Junction, Stringtown, Farrsville, Magnolia Springs, Old Salem, and Mt. Union.

Just 7 minutes ago, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Langford, Capital Regional District, British Columbia, Canada. The tremor was recorded early evening on Monday, August 18th, 2025, at 7:17 pm local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 26 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 3.7 earthquake. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.6.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Port Renfrew (pop. 190) located 9 miles from the epicenter. In Sooke (pop. 6,100, 30 miles away), Duncan (pop. 22,200, 40 miles away), Langford (pop. 35,300, 40 miles away), Colwood (pop. 16,900, 41 miles away), North Cowichan (pop. 29,700, 43 miles away), Esquimalt (pop. 17,700, 45 miles away), and Nanaimo (pop. 90,500, 55 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
