Though snow continues to diminish away from the snowbelts of north-central WI through the evening, reports coming in are indicating that roads, parking lots and sidewalks are becoming very slippery due to black ice. As temperatures continue to fall through the 20s, any residual moisture from melting snow will freeze up. Use caution if traveling as roads that look wet may be icy. Be especially aware on bridges and overpasses. Where it is still snowing this evening, expect visibility to be reduced to less than a mile at times as winds gusting to 40 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow. The lowest visibilities will be found in open areas.
