Position Purpose
A Level B Research Fellow position is expected to make contributions to the research effort of the university and to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or centre.

The purpose of this position is to achieve the research missions set by the Department of Civil Engineering in the focused area of Structures and Materials. The Research Fellow is expected to undertake original research under the guidance and supervision of their Supervisor and/or project’s Principal Investigator(s), within the sub-domain of Cement and Concrete Engineering. The School of Engineering at Tufts University invites applications for the endowed Epsilon Energy Materials Innovation Professorship and inaugural Director of the Tufts Epsilon Materials Institute (TEMI) faculty position. TEMI is a recently-established collaborative partnership between Tufts University and Epsilon Group, an industrial leader in advanced carbon materials for batteries and other applications. TEMI seeks to address global challenges in energy and sustainability through breakthrough materials research. Position overview
Salary range: The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. See the following table for the current salary scale for this position: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2025-26/represented-july-2025-scales/t15.pdf. The current full-time salary range for Lecturer positions is $75,301 – $199,722. Starting salary is commensurate with highest degree, teaching experience, and equity within the department.

Percent time: From 17% to 50%.

Anticipated start: January 1, 2026.
