TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS IN MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. The department is seeking candidates that complement our current capabilities in mechanics of materials, advanced manufacturing, automation and controls, fluid dynamics and reacting flows, or aerodynamics. Candidates applying computational methods, artificial intelligence and machine learning toward research in these fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field. The Interfacial Fluids Lab (IFLab) is seeking applications for highly motivated PhD students to conduct research in fluid dynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Baylor University (BU).

Applicants are expected to have a strong foundation in fundamental fluid mechanics and optics background is helpful, but not required. A strong math background and communication skills is also required.

The appointment includes a competitive stipend and full tuition coverage. Outstanding candidates are invited to submit a CV, and copies of relevant papers, the names and e-mail addresses of at least three references.

About the Job 

The Department of Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics (AEM) at the University of Minnesota seeks to fill a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the area of computational fluid dynamics. Successful candidates are expected to have the potential to conduct a vigorous and significant research program along with the ability to collaborate with researchers with a wide range of viewpoints. Candidates will participate in all aspects of AEM’s mission, including (I) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in aerospace engineering and mechanics to a diverse group of students; (II) participating in service activities for the department, University, broader scientific community, and society; and (III) supervising undergraduate and graduate students and developing an independent, externally-funded research program.  

Faculty positions are 9-month, full-time appointments located on the Twin Cities Campus. The target start date for this round of hiring is Fall 2026; however other start dates will be considered.
