JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in electrical engineering. Applications are welcome in all areas of electrical engineering; this year we particularly seek scholars in (i) Devices and Integrated Systems (advanced semiconductors devices, analog/mixed signal/digital ICs); (ii) Communications, Signal Processing and Control (wireless communications, statistical/ML-enabled signal processing, estimation, and control); and (iii) Cyber-Physical and Autonomous systems (embedded/real-time systems, robotics and autonomy, verification and safety). Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the start date. The successful candidate will demonstrate (a) the potential for scholarly activities that are supported by externally funded contracts and grants; (b) a commitment to teach, develop new courses, and mentor students; and (c) a desire for university and professional service.

Salary range: The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See the following table for the current salary scale for this position: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2025-26/represented-july-2025-scales/t38-b.pdf The current full-time base salary range for this position is $97,000-$121,800. “Off-scale” salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
