The William B. Burnsed Jr. Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering (www.southalabama.edu/colleges/engineering/me/) at the University of South Alabama (USA) in Mobile, Alabama, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Aerospace Engineering.  This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month appointment. The expected starting date is August 15, 2026. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must have prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with preference given to those with expertise in compressible flows and propulsion. Applicants with industrial experience in aerospace engineering applications are encouraged to apply.
