Columbia Engineering invites applications for an open rank faculty position in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, starting July 1, 2026. Appointments will be made at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor (without tenure), tenured Associate Professor, or tenured Professor rank, depending on the applicant’s qualifications. The position is open to exceptional applicants in all areas of operations research and management science. We welcome candidates with research interests in the foundations of optimization and probability, including their intersections with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. Candidates with strong methodological training and research interests in application-driven areas such as healthcare, energy, public sector OR, sustainability, networks, transportation, supply chains, service platforms, and finance are especially encouraged to apply.

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. The Interfacial Fluids Lab (IFLab) is seeking applications for highly motivated PhD students to conduct research in fluid dynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Baylor University (BU).

Applicants are expected to have a strong foundation in fundamental fluid mechanics and optics background is helpful, but not required. A strong math background and communication skills is also required.

About the Job 

The Department of Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics (AEM) at the University of Minnesota seeks to fill a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the area of computational fluid dynamics. Successful candidates are expected to have the potential to conduct a vigorous and significant research program along with the ability to collaborate with researchers with a wide range of viewpoints. Candidates will participate in all aspects of AEM’s mission, including (I) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in aerospace engineering and mechanics to a diverse group of students; (II) participating in service activities for the department, University, broader scientific community, and society; and (III) supervising undergraduate and graduate students and developing an independent, externally-funded research program.  

Faculty positions are 9-month, full-time appointments located on the Twin Cities Campus. The target start date for this round of hiring is Fall 2026; however other start dates will be considered.
