The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.6 quake in the United States near Anchorage, Alaska, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit late at night on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at 10:50 pm local time at a shallow depth of 18 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.6 as well.
