For the High Surf Advisory, until midnight EDT Thursday night. * IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* WHAT…Surf building to 6 to 10 ft along the Atlantic oceanfront. * WHERE…Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties. * WHEN…Through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS…Large breaking waves will result in beach flooding and erosion with only minor damage expected to dune structures. Life-threatening rip currents are likely for all people entering the surf zone. Stay out of the water.

Sets up to 7 feet in Orange County. * WHERE…San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN…Through late this evening. * IMPACTS…Strong rip currents and longshore currents for all beaches will create hazardous swimming conditions. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Swell and surf will gradually lower today and tonight.
