A magnitude 3.0 earthquake near Tours, Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire, France, was reported only 7 minutes ago by France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 26.09 km beneath the epicenter early morning on Friday, July 25th, 2025, at 3:35 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Pouzay (pop. 780) located 4 km from the epicenter. In Chatellerault (pop. 37,200, 28 km away), Joue-les-Tours (pop. 37,500, 34 km away), Saint-Avertin (pop. 16,000, 38 km away), Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire (pop. 17,300, 39 km away), Tours (pop. 141,600, 40 km away), Saint-Pierre-des-Corps (pop. 15,300, 41 km away), and Saumur (pop. 33,200, 47 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
