* WHAT…Large breaking waves of 8 to 11 feet and dangerous rip currents. * WHERE…North facing reefs of the Marianas. * WHEN…Until 6 AM ChST Monday. * IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Long-period northerly swell emanating from Tropical Storm Neoguri is producing 8 to 10 foot surf along north facing reefs of the Marianas. An increase in swell magnitude and period may allow surf to build an additional foot or two over the weekend.

At 148 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm producing rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour over Avon, or over Stoughton, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD…Heavy rain. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Minimal. Water on roads that flood easily. Locations impacted include… Brockton, Quincy, Weymouth, Braintree, Randolph, Milton, Stoughton, Bridgewater, Easton, Hingham, Canton, Scituate, Sharon, Rockland, Foxborough, Abington, Whitman, Hanover, East Bridgewater, and Holbrook.

* WHAT…South winds around 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected. * WHERE…Petersburg Borough, Western Kupreanof Island and Kuiu Island and City and Borough of Wrangell. * WHEN…From 10 AM to 10 PM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS…High winds will blow around unsecured object. The strong winds may blow down trees, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Highest wind speeds are expected to be associated with a wind shift from the east to the south. At this time, expecting this wind shift to occur in the early afternoon Friday.
