The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Air Quality Alert for Fine Particulates…until midnight EDT tonight. An Air Quality Alert means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed levels that are unhealthy for sensitive groups. Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at Albany NY has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Fine Particles for Eastern Clinton, Eastern Essex, Northern Franklin, Northern St. Lawrence, Southeastern St. Lawrence, Southern Franklin, Southwestern St. Lawrence, Western Clinton, and Western Essex until midnight EDT Monday night. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an air quality index value of 100 for Fine Particulate Matter. The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Code Orange or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category due to Fine Particulates for Caledonia, Eastern Chittenden, Eastern Franklin, Essex, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orleans, Washington, Western Chittenden, and Western Franklin until midnight EDT tonight. The air quality index, or AQI, is expected to approach or exceed the Code Orange or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category due to Fine Particulates.
