At 1117 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Lela, or 4 miles west of Shamrock, moving south at 15 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Shamrock, Dozier, Lutie, Lela, Samnorwood, and Twitty.

At 1015 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 18 miles south of Higbee, or 32 miles south of North La Junta, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of east central Las Animas County.
