The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 2.5 quake in Spain near Valencia, 35 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, at 4:04 am local time at a very shallow depth of 7.50 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Montserrat (pop. 7,600) located 3 km from the epicenter, Picassent (pop. 19,800) 10 km away, and Torrent (pop. 78,500) 11 km away. In Alaquas (pop. 30,400, 13 km away), Aldaia (pop. 29,900, 14 km away), Manises (pop. 30,500, 15 km away), Mislata (pop. 43,800, 17 km away), Paterna (pop. 64,000, 18 km away), and Valencia (pop. 792,500, 20 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
