At 512 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Malaquite Beach, or 20 miles south of Corpus Christi, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Padre Balli Park, Packery Channel, and Malaquite Beach.

An area of dense fog has developed across portions of Berkeley and Charleston counties this morning. The worst of the fog will impact an area from around Jamestown and McClellanville, to Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, Johns Island, and James Island. Visibilities will be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less at times in these areas. The fog will produce hazardous travel conditions this morning, but conditions should begin to improve by around 9 am.
