The combination of breezy winds and dry conditions will create elevated fire weather conditions today. Westerly winds are forecast to sustain between 15-20 mph and gust up to 25-30 mph this afternoon. Relative humidity is forecast to drop to 25-30 percent during peak afternoon heating. These conditions will work together to support elevated potential for rapid fire spread. ESFGUM This Hydrologic Outlook is for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. A tropical disturbance developing in central Micronesia is being monitored by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center as Invest 90W, and as of Monday evening is located near 9N147E. Invest 90W is expected to move toward the Marianas by Wednesday, bringing potentially heavy downpours to the area in the second half of the week. After the system exits to the west, feeder bands along the leeside of the system may bring an extended period of rainfall for the rest of the week. West winds gusting to 25 to 35 mph, low relative humidity and mild temperatures will result in elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon. Residents are urged to be careful with any activities that could potentially lead to a wildland fire. Campfires, outdoor grills, smoking materials, chain saws, and all-terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a wildfire.
