The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a * Dust Storm Warning for… Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico… * Until 800 PM MST. * At 700 PM MST, a dust storm was 11 miles west of Dexter, or 15 miles south of Roswell, and is nearly stationary. HAZARD…Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong wind in excess of 40 mph. Near-brownout conditions were reported at the Roswell airport as of 6:15pm. SOURCE…Public. IMPACT…Dangerous life-threatening travel. * This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 80 and 104. Locations impacted include… Greenfield, Roswell Correctional Facility, Roswell, Hagerman, Lake Arthur, Dexter, Midway, and Bottomless Lakes State Park.

Bands of heavy snow are impacting portions of I-25 from mile marker 40 north into southern Platte County, including the Bear Creek area. Visibility is periodically dropping to a quarter mile or less. Winds remain below snow squall criteria but low visibility from snow and blowing snow will lead to dangerous driving conditions. Dense fog is also ongoing along I-25 from about Cheyenne north through mile marker 35. Visibility at and below a quarter mile have been observed. Fog will remain until the next round of snow moves into the area around 10pm tonight.
