At 1059 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles west of Fuquay-Varina to 8 miles northwest of Lillington to 13 miles southeast of Sanford. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Smithfield, Lillington, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Clayton, Angier, Benson, Micro, Selma, and Wendell. This includes the following highways… Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 107 and 81. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 305 and 328.
