A frontal system from the Bering Sea will bring much cooler air to the area Monday along with precipitation, which is expected to begin as rain as early as Monday morning. Snow levels will fall to around 1500 feet through the day on Monday with snow expected down to highway level Monday night into Tuesday morning. There is considerable uncertainty as to how much snow will fall, but up to 6 inches remains possible. The mostly likely spots to see this would be from Trims Camp south along the Richardson Highway and between Denali Park and Cantwell along the Parks Highway. Precipitation will taper off Tuesday night with significant melting expected

At 427 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles south of Medicine Wheel, which is 14 miles northeast of Greybull, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Big Horn County, including the following locations… Porcupine Campground and Bald Mountain Campground.
