Heaviest snow will be at higher elevations and in the evening. Lighter snow is possible during the overnight hours with a transition to a rain/snow mix beginning late Thursday morning through Thursday night. * WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 17 inches. * WHERE…Klondike Highway, including White Pass, mainly above 2000 ft. * WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 1 PM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult and is discouraged unless it is an emergency. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow will begin Wednesday evening

* WHAT…Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet with dangerous rip currents. * WHERE…West and northwest facing beaches of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. * WHEN…From 3 PM Thursday to 3 AM PDT Friday. * IMPACTS…There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

* WHAT…Minor saltwater flooding. * WHERE…Middle and Upper Keys. * WHEN…Through late tonight. * IMPACTS…Minor saltwater flooding of low elevation streets and lots is likely. Some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be overtopped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges. Motorists should remember that persistent puddles are almost certain to contain a mix of saltwater around the times of high tide in the Middle Keys. Even outside the windows of high tide, little ponding relief can be expected in the Upper Keys.
