An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred early evening on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at 7:11 pm local time near Goa, Camarines Sur, Bicol, Philippines, as reported by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a moderately shallow depth of 62. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Garchitorena (pop. 4,900) located 3 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Goa (pop. 20,900) located 34 km from the epicenter, Tiwi (pop. 16,800) 49 km away, Tabaco (pop. 57,900) 60 km away, Iriga City (pop. 114,500) 62 km away, Naga (pop. 174,900) 66 km away, Polangui (pop. 77,100) 72 km away, Libon (pop. 68,800) 73 km away, and Oas (pop. 66,100) 75 km away.
