An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 occurred only 4 minutes ago 34 miles east of Port Alsworth, Alaska, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 103 miles beneath the epicenter near Port Alsworth, Lake and Peninsula, Alaska, USA, in the morning on Friday, June 13th, 2025, at 11:17 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.8 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.8.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Port Alsworth (pop. 160, 34 miles away), and Anchor Point (pop. 1,900, 57 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

If you felt it, report it through our site or app right now!
