SVRMFR The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for… North central Siskiyou County in northern California… * Until 600 PM PDT. * At 529 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of Scott Bar, or 11 miles west of Yreka, moving south at 10 mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Siskiyou County.

At 630 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Deer Creek Burn Scar. Between 0.3 and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.2 to 0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the La Sal Creek and Twomile Creek Basins. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Deer Creek Burn Scar.

HAZARD…Outflow wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
