At 130 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Vincent, or 10 miles southeast of Leeds. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Leeds, Moody, Vincent, Harpersville, Alpine Bay Resort, Bald Rock, Vandiver, Coosa Island, Logan Martin Dam, Logan Martin Lake, Country Club Estates, Sterrett, and Camp Winnataska.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE…A portion of southeast Alabama, including the following counties, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston. * WHEN…Until 430 PM CDT. * IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 122 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen with Dothan Regional Airport having recorded a little over 2 inches in 30 minutes. – Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
