BOSTON (May 21, 2024) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has settled with Navisun, LLC, a solar energy company based in Hingham, Massachusetts, for alleged violations of the Construction General Permit (CGP), related to stormwater discharges from construction activities. Under the settlement, the company will pay a penalty of $25,000 to resolve the allegations of the two alleged violations.
“Great strides have been made in clean energy production, especially when it comes to solar power. However, clean energy development must be done in environmentally sound ways, and this proposed penalty and subsequent settlement reinforces the commitment we have to our communities and to neighbors.” said EPA New England Regional Administrator David W. LENEXA, KAN. (MAY 20, 2024) – Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced $1.5 million in grant awards from President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda to expedite the assessment and cleanup of brownfield sites in Kansas, while advancing environmental justice.
These investments through EPA’s Brownfields Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup (MAC) Grant programs and Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Grant programs will help transform once-polluted, vacant, and abandoned properties into community assets, while helping to create good jobs and spur economic revitalization in overburdened communities.
EPA selected the Flint Hills Regional Council in Kansas to receive $1.5 million in competitive EPA Brownfields funding through MAC Grant programs.

SEATTLE (May 20, 2024) – Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced $9,806,874 in grant awards from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda to expedite the assessment and cleanup of brownfield sites in Oregon while advancing environmental justice. EPA selected six communities in Oregon to receive EPA Brownfields funding through the Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup Grant programs.
