Earthquake details
The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.8 and occurred at a depth of 47 miles beneath the surface. The epicenter was located approximately 55 miles west of Palmer and 35 miles northwest of Anchorage, Alaska. The event was detected at 61.6° North latitude and 150.7° West longitude at 8:11 AM local time (9:11 AM PST, 17:11 UTC).

According to the National Tsunami Warning Center, a tsunami is not expected as a result of this earthquake. There is no tsunami danger for Alaska, the U.S. West Coast, or other Pacific regions.
