Spain’s Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) reported a magnitude 4.0 quake in Spain near Gasteiz / Vitoria, Araba / Álava, Basque Country, only 8 minutes ago. The earthquake hit after midnight on Monday, December 8th, 2025, at 12:10 am local time at a very shallow depth of 5. km. Weak shaking might have been felt in Miranda de Ebro (pop. 39,300) located 23 km from the epicenter, and Arrasate / Mondragón (pop. 22,000) 33 km away.
