Latest quakesThis page is frequently updated.
The most recent quakes (above magnitude 2 for the past few hours, larger magnitudes for the rest of the past day, to limit the number to about 100 per day) are shown below with detail links for each quake.
We use multiple data sources from all over the world (currently over 20 different national and international agencies), and prioritize them in the following descending order: national institutes / agencies – USGS – EMSC – GFZ. Where data from different agencies for the same earthquake is available, you can find and compare the often differing data for magnitude, depth etc. in the detail page for each quake.
If you are looking for smaller and/or earthquakes in a specific region, you can look them up on the pages of specific countries or regions. Otherwise, there would be hundreds or thousands of earthquakes shown here.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred only 21 minutes ago 54 km southwest of Pyrgos, Greece, the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 23.60 km beneath the epicenter near Pyrgos, Ilia Prefecture, West Greece, Greece, early morning on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at 5:36 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.0. Other agencies reporting the same quake include The Seismological Laboratory of the University of Athens (UOA) at magnitude 3.5, The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Geophysical Lab. (AUTH) at magnitude 3.5, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 3.7.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Keri (pop. 470) located 14 km from the epicenter, Lithakia (pop. 1,300) 21 km away, Mouzaki (pop. 1,700) 22 km away, Ambelokipoi (pop. 1,600) 25 km away, Zakynthos (pop. 11,500) 27 km away, Gaitanion (pop. 1,900) 28 km away, Gastouni (pop. 8,100) 49 km away, Amaliada (pop. 16,800) 53 km away,
