The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, invites applications for two Ph.D. graduate research assistant positions in the area of civil engineering materials.

Requirements and expectations:

The positions are for full-time graduate students pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering. Highly motivated individuals with a research background in construction materials, cementitious composites, inorganic binders, sustainable concrete, and 3D concrete printing are encouraged to apply. Candidates holding a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Material Science, or closely related areas are preferred. Priority will be given to applicants with a strong research background, hands-on laboratory experience, and a proven publication record in cement-based materials, multi-scale material characterization, and sustainable concrete design. The ideal candidates should demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research while effectively collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
