Patchy Dense Fog through the AM Commute… Patchy dense fog this morning is expected to burn off through 9-10am. Visibilities could drop under a mile at times this morning, and as low as 1/4 mile or lower…which will impact the morning commute. Plan to leave extra time for travel this morning and drive with caution. Please turn on low-beam headlights to see through the fog, and so others can see you and see your tail lights.

Areas of fog are developing into far northeast Illinois early this morning from Wisconsin. Patchy dense fog, with visibilities less than a half mile, will persist through sunrise across portions of Lake and McHenry counties, especially north of Route 120. Fog should gradually lift after sunrise, with improving visibilities. If heading out early this morning, be alert for rapid changes in visibility. If you encounter dense fog, slow down, use your low beam headlights and exercise caution.
