Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) reported a magnitude 3.3 quake in Italy near Pozzuoli, Naples, Campania, 40 minutes ago. The earthquake hit after midnight on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at 12:50 am local time at a very shallow depth of 2.40 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.3 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
