An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred only 11 minutes ago 3 miles south of San Clemente, California, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 7.9 miles beneath the epicenter near San Clemente, Orange County, California, USA, around noon on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, at 12:36 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.2.
