The National Observatory of Athens (NOA) reported a magnitude 2.9 quake in Greece near Athens, Nomarchía Athínas, Attica, only 11 minutes ago. The earthquake hit after midnight on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at 12:27 am local time at a very shallow depth of 5. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

Other agencies reporting the same quake include The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Geophysical Lab. (AUTH) at magnitude 3.1, The Seismological Laboratory of the University of Athens (UOA) at magnitude 3.0, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 3.1.
