The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Strong winds are now forecast to persist through early tomorrow morning. Though there will be a break in snowfall later this afternoon and evening, continued strong winds may loft transportable snow and maintain lower visibilities.

An earthquake of magnitude 2.8 occurred in the morning on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at 8:33 am local time near Chrzanow, Chrzanów County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Libiaz (pop. 17,800) located 2 km from the epicenter, Chrzanow (pop. 40,000) 9 km away, Oswiecim (pop. 39,100) 9 km away, Jaworzno (pop. 96,500) 13 km away, and Myslowice (pop. 74,600) 16 km away. In Tychy (pop. 130,000, 24 km away), Sosnowiec (pop. 227,300, 26 km away), Katowice (pop. 317,300, 27 km away), and Krakow (pop. 755,100, 46 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
