Incoming waves in rapid succession can tire even an experienced swimmer quickly. Rip currents can move you away from land. To avoid being swept away, swim parallel to the shore to exit a rip current.

Regional webcams and satellite imagery indicate areas of fog extending from the Niagara Peninsula across portions of Niagara county roughly north and west of a Lewiston to Barker line early this morning. Some of this fog is locally dense in spots, with visibilities down to a quarter of a mile or less. If you will be traveling this morning, be sure to slow down and be prepared for rapid changes in visibility. The fog is expected to dissipate within a few hours after sunrise.
